Introduction to Digital Marketing

The Introduction to Digital Marketing module enables you to harness the power of Digital Marketing as a core driver of the marketing strategy for your organisation. You will understand the foundation principles of Digital Marketing, and be able to distinguish how it differs from traditional marketing.

Search Engine Optimisation

The Search Engine Optimisation module examines the various tactics for enhancing your website’s position and ranking with search engines. The module covers the key concepts and terminology used within the field of SEO and equips marketing professionals with the technical know-how, understanding and insight to build and maintain an effective SEO strategy.

Pay Per Click Marketing

The Pay Per Click module demonstrates how to implement and manage search advertising campaigns. Lectures will cover the key concepts and terminology used within the field of PPC and will equip you with the technical understanding and skills to build and maintain an effective PPC strategy.

Email Marketing

The Email Marketing module covers industry best practices for creating and delivering effective email marketing campaigns. The module covers the four foundational aspects of email marketing: Subscriber Management, Email Design, Delivery and Reporting. You will learn how to develop and manage a subscriber database, and become familiar with the features within third party email systems and solutions.

Digital Display Advertising

The Digital Display Advertising module equips you with the skills and knowledge to implement and manage effective digital display campaigns. The module covers the core concepts and terminology associated with digital display advertising, and explores what is involved in developing and managing effective ad campaigns.

Mobile Marketing

The Mobile Marketing module focuses on utilising the power of mobile technologies as a way to access increasingly mobile consumers. You will understand emergent trends within the mobile space, and recognise the new opportunity afforded by “always on” mobile devices when interacting with specific audiences based on context and location.

Web Analytics

The Analytics module enables you to fully measure, monitor and optimise your Digital Marketing activities. You will learn how to build an online reporting structure for your business, and learn about the range of specialist tools that are available to help you understand how to measure and monitor online traffic. You will understand the rationale and business benefits of adopting a formal analytics programme, and learn how to set up accounts, profiles and permissions to apply analytics tracking across your websites.

Social Media Marketing

The Social Media Marketing module is broken into two modules. The first module enables you to effectively engage with customers across a diverse range of social media platforms. The second Social Media Marketing module explores how to implement social advertising features to build and sustain relationships with customers. You will appreciate the challenges of implementing an effective Social Media strategy for your business, with a focus on the importance of listening as the critical starting point.

Strategy & Planning

​The Strategy and Planning module provides a structured approach for bringing together all the strands of the Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing, to create a coherent Digital Marketing Plan. This module is based on the Digital Marketing Institute Methodology, which incorporates a nine step process based on three distinct parts. The Strategy and Planning module provides you with the skills to create a formal Digital Marketing plan for your organisation, which will allow you to implement a successful and effective Digital Marketing strategy.

3-Day Workshop – In the workshop, the trainers who are experienced digital marketing practitioners will cover the following 3 Modules:

  • Day 1 – Pay Per Click Marketing
  • Day 2 - Social Media Marketing
  • Day 3 - Web Analytics


The assessment for the Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing is based on a formal computer based examination that will measure individuals knowledge and Digital Marketing proficiency following completion of the programme. The duration of the exam is 180 minutes. A range of different question formats are used including Text based Multiple Choice, Image based Multiple Choice, Matching and Hot Spot questions. Our computer-based examinations are delivered through Pearson VUE test centre network which consists of over 5,200 centres in 180 countries. The use of Pearson VUE to deliver our exams increases the value of international certification offered by the Digital Marketing Institute and provides students with a quality examination experience. There is an examination fee of USD 200 payable directly to Pearson Vue when you book for an exam.


Chu Tzu Ming

Tzu Ming runs a Google Certified Partner Analytics and Adwords Agency which focuses on Web Analytics and monetization of eCommerce websites. He was most recently Partner and CEO of a regional based Venture Capital firm where he invested, restructured and took public many high growth companies including one of Asia’s leading Online Advertising networks on the London Stock Exchange.

He has consulted with leading Management and Technology consulting firms AT Kearney and Deloitte Consulting where he was involved in Oracle Applications and Databases. His clients included the largest multinational companies in the world in the Mobile and Media sectors including Axiata and Hewlett Packard.

Tzu Ming is also the co-director and mentor of Founder Institute Kuala Lumpur, an entrepreneur training and startup launch programme that aims to create sustainable startup ecosystems around the world.

Tzu Ming graduated with a degree in Law from Exeter University, United Kingdom and an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM). He is a Google Certified Analytics Individual and Adwords Certified Professional. He has also conducted courses for Digital Agencies and has conducted Adwords certification courses across South East Asia. He is also an instructor for the Google Partner Academy.​

CK Wong

CK has been working with companies both big and small to help build and promote their online presence for the past 12 years. As a consultant, CK advised companies on web application processes, search marketing, web analytics and lead generation strategies.

As an individual with portal project experience, CK is currently also part of, an online fundraising portal with more than 500 non-profit organizations in Asia.

CK Wong graduated with an Accounting degree from the University Of Kent at Canterbury, United Kingdom and obtained his MBA from Staffordshire University,United Kingdom. He is a Google Certified Analytics Individual and Adwords Certified Professional. He has also conducted courses for Digital Agencies and has conducted Adwords certification courses across South East Asia. He is also an instructor for the Google Partner Academy.​

Jason Khaw

Jason Khaw runs a digital marketing agency which focuses on search engine, social media & location based marketing. His first introduction to search engine marketing (SEM) was 10 years ago and today he is a certified Google Adwords & Analytics Individual, Bing & Hootsuite Certified Professional.

Jason has used his passion & experience in developing, implementing, managing & optimising online marketing campaigns to help small businesses and publicly listed companies. The companies that he works with span several industries including retail, commercial/consumer services and fast moving consumer goods.

He holds a BA (Hons) in Business with Marketing from Sheffield Hallam University, United Kingdom and has been a recipient of several awards including winning the MIMS-MIM Management Competition organised by the Malaysian Institute of Management along with his team.
